“Lovely vacation spot”
for a stay in August 2015

Villa Navailia is a lovely vacation spot. It is nicely appointed with 6 bedrooms (each with its own bath), a very spacious living area and a modern kitchen. The deck is big with plenty of furniture, and overlooks the lake. The villa was spotless and comfortable. Plenty of parking. It was a 15-20 minute walk into town, although parking was a little tough in town when we drove (although we had two big vans for our extended family). Laura was very helpful in arranging dinner reservations, an onsite chef, a day on the lake and answering other questions. We had a fantastic time and would recomend this villa to anyone looking to stay on Lake Como.

We stayed in Villa Navalia for 3 days with my wife and 3 young children and had a great time - Beautiful place, well equipped, in perfect condition, and decorated with taste. Amazing view on the Lake, and great location to visit the various towns around Lake Como.
Would definitely recommend

We've just returned from staying at Villa Navalia for four nights and wish we could have stayed longer! The Villa is in excellent condition and very comfortable, the view amazing. We were traveling without a car but once you got there, the walk to town was easy and the bikes made day trips to the ferry very accessible. We were 2 couples and had plenty of space. Can't say enough about how helpful Laura was in the booking process, providing suggestions of area activities before and upon arrival. Laura helped arrange a dinner upon arrival, private van service from Milan and back, and a private boat tour. The private boat tour which included lunch on the lake was the highlight of our 2 week vacation.. Thank you Laura we hope to be back soon!

Modern style and comfort in beautiful surroundings”

We stayed for a wonderful week at Nivalia Penthouse. The apartment is very bright, modern and comfortable and well stocked with amenities. The view of the lake is breathtaking and Mennagio is a lovely little town. Thanks to Laura for being there to help with restaurant recommendations, boat hire and booking excursions - nothing was too much for her.

5 of 5 stars for a stay in September 2015

We stayed in Villa Navalia for one week during September 2015.
Villa Navalia is a lovely penthouse apartment with stunning views of Lake Como. The property was absolutely spotless. Everything was perfectly clean. The kitchen is well stocked with enough crockery and implements to cook at "home" and enjoy the beautiful views. With three bedrooms and three full bathrooms there was adequate space for five of us. Having the balcony on the front of the apartment was a special location to enjoy an evening meal or glass of wine and watch the changing colours over the mountains as dusk approached. The small supermarket is close by and the ferry is on the other side of the Menaggio village. All within an easy and enjoyable walk from the apartment. Onsite parking a bonus and the internet was reliable.
Laura was very helpful and efficient with correspondence. She also met us upon arrival and departure. We would love to return to Villa Navalia any time of year. Thank you Laura for a lovely week!

A paradise with excellent and friendly service and incredible facilities.”

for a stay in August 2014

The location walking distance to the town if Menaggio and right on the lake was awe inspiring. Laura and her family were so helpful and friendly with all details. We had our six adult children, their spouses and a couple of grandbabies with us and the layout gave everyone adequate space and privacy. We had many great games, laughs, and discussions on the incredible deck overlooking the awesome view of the lake and mountains.
If you can book the chef Johann and Anna it will be a culinary treat and a night to remember. Laura handled that and so any other details. Worth every penny.

I did not want to leave!!!”

I can only highly recommend this Villa, Everything just ran perfectly, you will NOT find a better Villa in Menaggio. We stayed as part of a wedding party, The family that runs the place had no problem helping with whatever we needed. All amenities were clean and tidy, the only thing we found was a bit off was the spa, it would just not heat up properly, but that was the only thing. Shops are close, the ferry is close, and a great taxi driver called Mario, find him and you will not miss anything : )

If your're thinking about booking this place do it!!!

Truly Stunning!”

My fiance and I stayed in the 3-bedroom penthouse with two other couples as part of our wedding trip in Italy, and couldn't have been happier with our choice! It looks exactly like the pictures online, is gleaming with sunshine and absolutely spotless. The three bedrooms are very equally sized and each have a modern bathroom and private balcony. The living and kitchen areas are very spacious and great to hang out. Each night after dinner, we opened up a few bottles of wine and the huge sliding glass doors, sat on the balcony and admired the gorgeous view. Our other friends at a nice hotel down the road were jealous!

Laura was fantastic in helping us arrange activities, rent a boat and give us directions wherever we needed. She make check-in and check-out very easy. She even showed us inside the 6-bedroom lower level unit and it's equally as beautiful. I hope to return someday and rent the whole thing!

The location is just north of the Menaggio center. It was a bit longer than we wanted to walk, so we drove each day, but we probably could have walked and/or used the bikes provided with the villa. There is a little cafe around the corner to get coffee in the morning, but also easy enough to stock food and drinks in the full kitchen. We didn't cook, but the place is fully stocked for it! Even has a washing machine.

Perfect location”

Very nice location. Rented the upper part : 3 large and beautiful bedrooms and a large living room. Nice view over the lake. Kitchen had everything you needed. Even we had a few bicycles available for free. Location at the lake was OK, just a nice walk (about 15 min.) from Menaggio center. At the house a large place for the car The people were very nice and helpfull. A place certainly to remember.

Beautiful venue on Lake Como”

for a stay in April 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa over Easter. We booked the main villa which had 6 bedrooms (not the additional rooms upstairs). The quality of the rooms, kitchen, lounge rooms etc was all excellent. I really liked that all 6 bedrooms were equal quality meaning that no one had better rooms than others. It's also all on one level - which is good with kids too. Note, that there is one bathroom with a bath - the rest have showers only. The furnishings were modern and beat many other places I have stayed in Italy.

We had young kids and I was initially concerned about the balcony area - but it was fine. And there is a small playground right next to the villa which was very handy for keeping the kids busy.

Laura (villa owner) was excellent and went out of her way to help us with booking restaurants, organising a cooking lesson at the villa, takeaway pizza and organising a private chef. It's like having a concierge on call.

The balcony is spectacular and really shows off Lake Como. Perhaps one small improvement could be some heat lamps or something like that so you can appreciate the balcony and sit outdoors on cooler evenings.

Menaggio is a great spot. There's a supermarket that stocks everything you need, as well as gourmet delicatessens, fruit and veg shop, wine shop (erratic hours) and other bits and pieces. Again, it is family friendly as you can book restaurants on the town square and kids can run around the square while you relax and have lunch/dinner.

We would definitely go back. Thanks again Laura

Beautiful and Breathtaking!!!”

for a stay in June 2013

As mentioned in the other reviews, this Villa has everything. I have spent time in Italy and have stayed in many places and I have to say this Villa has all the amenities. It even has air conditioning which was nice to have since we were there in June and it was a bit warm. The Villa was very clean and organized. The terrace was incredible and we spent a lot of time drinking wine and taking in the gorgeous surroundings. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were not your small typical Italian bathrooms. We opted to not have a chef during our stay since many restaurants, cafe's, and shops are within walking distance. We definitely recommend this Villa to anyone who will be spending time on Lake Como and hope to make a return trip soon.

Fantastic accommodation on Lake Como”

for a stay in July 2014 NEW

Wow! Stylish 6 bedroom apartment on the water. What more could you want on a group family holiday. Laura and her family were delightful and very attentive. Planning the trip was so easy as Laura was always willing to accommodate and make suggestions. From booking restaurants, boats to day tours, nothing was a problem. The apartment was spacious and very modern with amazing views of the lake. I would highly recommend Villa Navalia.

Fabulous Place”

for a stay in July 2014

My husband and I stayed in the Villa Navallia Penthouse with our daughter (aged 16 months) and friends with a daughter (also aged 16 months). We had a wonderful time. The penthouse layout was perfect for us and was safe for our duaghters to run around. The place had everything we needed, including umbrellas and hair dryers, and all the appliances were perfect. Proximity to Menaggio was great as well, only 10 minute walk. We will definitely be back. Perfect amount of space, so clean and to our taste and child friendly. The reservation process was really simple and Laura was so helpful giving us restaurant recommendations, organising food delivery upon our arrival (after a long day of travel) and activities.

Absolutely Awesome”

Villa Navalia is a spectacular villa for large group of friends or family. It is beautifully appointed with a huge deck with glorious views of the lake. It is within easy walking distance of Menaggio or there are bikes with baskets available for you to use.
Laura was so helpful and responsive to anything we required and helped us to organise tours, boats and restaurant bookings. can't recommend it enough and hope to be able to go back there.

Absolutely fantastic, attention to every detail!”

ago for a stay in June 2014

The Villa Navalia really was the highlight of our one month stay in Italy. We stayed in Tropea, Courmayeur, and Menaggio and found that not only is Lake Como absolutely AMAZING, the penthouse apartment was stunning and even better than the pictures online. Plenty of room for the 3 of us couples. We loved having easy access to the ferries, lido (beach), town, shops, and amazing trails/roads (with the 6 bikes available to us!). One of the bikes had a flat and Laura immediately tried to fix it. When the tube needed to be replaced, she left us her own bike for a few days. She provides immense attention to every detail, not the typical self-catering holiday, but one where you can get every service added, if you like. She also provides an EXCELLENT guide to the area at the apartment, with a whole host of activities and recommendations that could keep you busy for weeks. We did the private boat tour to Villa Balbaniello (picked us up right at the marina), rented a boat for ourselves (again dropped off right at the marina), did the ferry rides to Varenna, Bellagio, etc, did hikes up to the Rifugio Menaggio and others in the area, and happened to be there for the annual fireworks show on Isola Comacina where Laura set up a boat and dinner party (really recommend if you happen to be able to come the last weekend of June). All in all, a stunning location, and a perfect apartment that is very modern and extremely well equipped, and very well managed. Thank you!

Great location and tremendous views”

for a stay in June 2014

Place was beautiful, modern and very clean. Laura was extremely helpful. Able to walk or ride bikes to Menaggio. Views were amazing - outside each balcony. Close to the water and marina. Easy to take ferry to Bellagio and easy access to other villages. Reserve a boat in advance and they will drop it off at marina. Each day gave a different view of lake and mountains. Can't say enough of the views from house. Highly recommend. It was hard to leave.

Absolute perfection”

for a stay in September 2013

I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at this gorgeous villa with my (now) husband and our parents and siblings in early September. We were getting married at Villa Balbianello in Lenno and had been looking for a while for suitable accommodation for the 10 of us which would be in easy walking distance of one of the towns on the lake given that we were not planning on hiring a car. We definitely picked the right place for our stay!

We were looked after throughout the whole booking process and during our stay by Louise and Laura who manage the rental of the property. They kept in touch all the way up to our arrival and during our stay to make sure that we were provided with any information we needed, making suggestions as to what we could do during our stay and answering all questions we had. To demonstrate how helpful they were, we were due to arrive on a Sunday and had asked whether the supermarkets in Menaggio would be open that day. They confirmed they would be closed but if we provided them with a list of what we needed, they would arrange to buy these items so that we had what we needed to see us through the initial day until the supermarkets re-opened. They also recommended a private chef to cater our wedding dinner back at the villa and we cannot thank them enough for this as the meal was one to remember! Both Louise and Laura also arranged to meet us at the villa upon arrival to introduce themselves and to talk us through everything we needed to know about the villa. Furthermore, they both took time out of their day to come and see us leaving for our wedding and to wish us well and Louise returned the night before we departed to see how the wedding had gone and to finalise the arrangements for our departure. They are both a credit to the villa and its owners. Rest assured, you will be well looked after if you stay there!

The villa itself is sensational! We only stayed on the marina floor (which sleeps 12) and, although I thought I knew what to expect from the photos I had previously seen, nothing prepared me for the view as I stepped into the living area. There is a huge floor to ceiling window ahead of you and all you can see is the stunning sight of the lake beyond the terrace. It was a real “wow” moment! The villa is modern and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The whole place has a light and airy feel to it and has a wonderful contemporary look. The kitchen is particularly well equipped with everything you could need. We all felt like celebrities staying in such a gorgeous place. There was more than enough room for everybody and the outdoor space is superb with two small, covered terraces which are, turn, attached to the main terrace. There are ample sun loungers and seating on the terrace and a fabulous hot tub too. The villa is right on the lake and the views are just unbelievable. We were fortunate that the weather was amazing during our stay and we spent every day out on the terrace.

As far as location is concerned, it is a pleasant 15 minute walk into Menaggio and you can catch the ferry from there to many other places on the lake. There is also a bus stop outside the villa too and the villa also has bicylces at your disposal (although we didn’t use them for fear of someone falling and having an accident just before the wedding!). There is a supermarket on the way into Menaggio which has everything you could need and Menaggio itself has lots of lovely little cafes, shops and restaurants.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Navalia to anyone looking for suitable accommodation in the Menaggio area. It is the perfect base for those wanting to get out and explore other towns around the lake but who still want to take time to relax and enjoy the views and (hopefully) good weather in luxurious surroundings.
